For the couples who want to keep things understated and relaxed. My parents chose to elope and it is a decision that I have always admired about them. Now that I live in Chicago, I get to run around the city with couples who prioritize nothing else but themselves and love on their wedding day. These types of weddings are consistently my favorites to be a part of.
SESSIONS
For proposals, engagements, or just because. Whether you just said yes to forever with your favorite person or you’re just madly in love and want to document that, a photo date in the city is the perfect way to celebrate! Bring some champagne, put your favorite outfit on, and let me capture you two running around the city together smooching and dancing!
My husband and I were planning our wedding in Greece for September 2023, and we hired a photographer in Greece to capture it. Of course, nothing goes according to plan. We found out during our engagement that my mom's cancer had returned, and it was aggressive. She fought, we prayed, and unfortunately, God had plans to take her. When we found out on 5/12 that her treatment had failed and she had days to live, my husband and I decided to get married in her living room on 5/14, Mother's Day. I took a chance and DM'd Ashlyn to ask her if there was any way she could be available, and without hesitation she said she would be there. This wedding was the most beautiful wedding of my life, because that day, everything that mattered mattered, and everything that didn't didn't. Ashlyn captured a first look with my mom, she captured me wearing my mom's ring, getting ready in my mom's vanity, putting on my mom's perfume. She captured stunning photos of our living room wedding, of my husband and me outside my mom's home. She treated our living room wedding like it was a black tie wedding she was being paid tens of thousands for. She sent me a photo that same night of my mom and I, and the next day sent me 40 more that my mom and I were able to look through together. My mom passed away in the early morning of 5/19, and while my heart was and will forever be shattered, the photos I have from that imperfectly perfect Mother's Day, our wedding day, will be cherished forever. Yes! I have shot weddings in Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado and Italy! In 2024, I am headed to Scotland! Fun fact: I used to live in Edinburgh!

I have a very balanced editing style that is true-to-color, not too moody and not too airy either. Your photos will be timeless with an editing style that is not trendy and will not go out of style. My galleries also include lots of black-and-white images because those are as timeless as can be!

I have been shooting weddings seriously since 2019 and have shot hundreds by now. 2021 was my first wedding season as a full-time photographer! In addition to the couples that I book through my own brand, I also associate shoot for other photographers and second shoot to keep myself constantly learning.

Like me, you might get nervous when being photographed! An engagement session is an amazing way to get some practice in front of the camera before the wedding day! This is a great time to experiment with which angles you like of yourself or which poses/prompts feel the most natural and fun to you.. I love it when my couples treat them as a date night! Bring some champagne, make reservations somewhere new for afterwards, or buy a fun new outfit! The number one thing for me is that I get the chance to meet you, spend an evening with you, and really get to know you better so that I can capture your wedding day even more intimately and authentically.
